INCOUNTER + ARTKILLART @ .HBC BERLIN

Incounter @ HBC Berlin was themed around translation: across media, between languages, and from analogue to digital. Working in collaboration with Berlin’s ARTKILLART the event at HBC the night showcased lo-fi experimentation with found objects and sound producing materials like glass, weather balloons and beer bottles, alongside laptop based audiovisual sound artists and intricate analogue audio machines. The live performances were interspersed with a video programme that explored translation and transformation, looking at the power of the screen to deceive and intrigue the viewer by transforming mundane objects into magical illusions (as in Youtube as Sculpture, Snowflake), as well as using transformation as a method for processing and ordering images (Poetry of the Packaging, Light is Waiting) amongst many other approaches.
